The 8th Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF 2017) will take place on April 7, 2017 in city of Innopolis, Tatarstan.

The 8th Russian Internet Governance Forum will take place in the city of Innopolis, Tatarstan, on April 7, 2017. RIGF 2017 seeks to get more actors involved in global internet governance, and add a wider variety of discussion topics to the current agenda. Guests and speakers will discuss new trends in internet governance and challenges facing those involved in this process.

The forum will feature sessions on information security, regional aspects of internet governance, international cooperation and technological innovations. Experts from Russia, China, the US and European countries will talk about who should be playing a more active role in global internet governance, and what can be done to engage new stakeholders. During the Forum there will also be an award ceremony for IP&IT Law contest winners. This contest has been staged for a few consecutive years for law students who specialize on Internet and ICT.

The event is hosted by Coordination Center for TLDs .RU/.РФ and supported by Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Informatization and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan, ICANN, ISOC, RIPE NCC and APTLD. Cybersecurity partner of the Forum – Kaspersky Lab.
